Since 1978, I've been making hand-thrown and hand-built ceramics inspired by colors and patterns found in rock formations and the ocean. I create practical, beautiful designs that can be repeated over a range of forms, experimenting with glazing combinations, colored clay, carving and faceting. Many of my pieces are imprinted with a variety of textures from old found objects, leaves, fabrics and detritus. My designs are primarily functional and practical, but sometimes are not. Each piece is totally unique; every kiln firing has its surprises.
